Using the applications we’ve covered in this course, you should select one or more tools that you plan to integrate into your teaching or personal web-based communication. Your final project should be a proposal for launching the tool(s) this fall as you return to the classroom and samples of what you are creating.
Include a short description of the context where you will implement your proposal. Who are the learners (grade level, subject, etc.), and how will they have access to the tools and/or resources you describe? Describe your prior experience with the 21st century technology tools we discussed (blogs, wikis, podcasting, feeds, etc.,), and explain why you think these skills are important to integrate into your teaching.
Summarize briefly the resources that were covered in this class that have helped you create a working framework for integrating this 21st century technology in your teaching. Discuss how these resources influenced your selection of specific tools to work with. Describe the key characteristics of the specific tools you chose to focus on and explain why you are choosing the specific tools. Briefly summarize how the tool(s) are being used by other educators, or in the classroom.
What are your goals for the project? What do you hope will be the end result? How will the project align to your curriculum standards? What technology standards (CNETS) are addressed in your project? When will you integrate new tools into your instruction and/or personal use and how does this proposal support your curriculum or job requirements? How often will you use the tools in your classroom? How do you plan to keep your resources updated? To what degree will you involve students in your project, and what factors influenced this decision? Are there any ground rules for participating in this project? How will you include students and still protect them from Internet dangers? How do you think your students will respond to the use of these new tools in their learning? Will you communicate your plans to parents and your administrator? Why or why not? Who else will you need to notify of your plans to use these tools in the classroom?
Reflect on the tools and project you have planned. Consider the following questions in your description of outcomes for this course.
Include proper citations for any outside resources used in your project. Provide hyperlinks back to web sites.
